A long the week we have been studying the uses and forms present simple and present continuous, we have done some reading, listening and grammar activities from unit 5. On Thursday you had conversation class in which you practiced how to express your tastes of music and your routines and habits. We have learnt some new adverbs of frequency and adjectives which you will put into practice in your next writing.
As you know, next Friday, the 9th February, you will have the Half 2nd Term Test of grammar and vocabulary from Units 4 & 5 and writing from Unit 5. I am leaving you some pieces of advice to get ready for the test:
- Grammar: revise the grammar reference on pages 95 and 100 from the Workbook.
- Vocabulary: study and check the vocabulary reference on pages 98 and 102 from the Workbook.
- Writing: you should revise the grammar & vocabulary of Unit 5 given on page 69 from the Student´s Book then:
-Pick a picture of a hobby that you like
-Read the sample given in the book on page 68 from the SB
-Write a summary of what you want to say
-Think about the adverbs of frequency and adjectives that you are going to use and their position in the sentences.
- Include in your text at least the following linking words: because, such as, for example, so and then.
- Write your composition following the instructions of exercise 4 on page 68 from the SB.
