Writing a Formal Letter

Hi everyone,

As I announced today in class, on Wednesday you're going to do the Audiovisual Test (Video) and you're going to do your writing at home.

Deadline to hand in the Formal Letter: Friday 8th June 08:35

These are the instructions for the letter:

This year, the trip to Madrid for 3 ESO has been cancelled.

Your class thinks that that excursion is very important and you would like the Head Teacher to reconsider her decision.

Write a formal letter on behalf of your class:

-       Explain the situation to the Head Teacher

-       Explain the  reasons to go to Madrid

-       Give alternatives (maybe alternative trips to cities/monuments nearer the school or cheaper).

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
- Content (2 points)
- Organisation and Format (2 points): you include all sections for a Formal Letter, check the structure on unit 9 of the book (student's book and workbook)
- Grammar (2 points). You have to include first and second conditional sentences. Rememeber that in formal letter we do not use  contractions
- Vocabulary (2 points): you have to include the structures that we've studied today in class, for example: I'm writing on behalf of... Also, remember to use a variety of formal vocabulary.
- Punctuation and Linking Words (2 points).

Remember that next Monday you're going to do a listening and reading exam. You just have to revise the vocabulary from unit 8.

3º B1 Writing Messages

Hi everyone:

As I explained yesterday in class, on Monday you're going to do your first writing of the Third Term.

These are the instructions:

"You have a family group in Whatsapp with all the members of the family who live in the same house. Every Sunday you decide who is in charge of the house chores and you organise your week.

You have to write a Whatsapp conversation with 3 or 4 members of the family to decide who is going to do each house job."

Remember that I'll assess you on: content, organisation and format, grammar (unit 7-future tenses), vocabulary (unit 7- house jobs) and punctuation and linking words.

Bring your dictionaries with you!

3º B1 Week 19-23 February 2018

Hi everyone!

This week we've started learning the vocabulary and grammar of Unit 6: Vocabulary related to the environment and Passive Voice.

We watched in class this video with a clear explanation of the Passsive Voice. Click here to watch it again. Remember that we're only going to study the form in Present  and in Past Simple.

Important: Next Monday 26th you're doing your final writing: A Report. You've got all the information and the instructions on page 53 of your workbook. The structure is:
TITLE
1. Introduction
2. Possitive Facts
3. Negative Facts
4. Coclusion

You've got to use the ideas on the book and add your own personal ideas. You also have to use the structures that we've seen today in class (exercise 1, page 51).

As I said in class, I'll let you have your books.

Hi dear students!

The first term is finally over and we have begun our well deserved holidays.

For those of you who failed the Grammar Standard, you have to do some grammar and vocabulary exercises during the Christmas break. I gave you the photocopies in class last week.
